Oh, Prabal
sorry its been so long- restarting the school year is taking up more time than i thought! i haven't had the opportunity to stalk the shows as much as i'd like but i definitely made time for Prabal Gurung's beautiful show. Ever since I realised how similar our backgrounds are I've taken a special interest in him- he is definitely an inspiration to me. ooooook now that i'm done with my creepy intro- lets focus on the show! the first thing that caught my eye when i looked at the all of the pieces and the flow of the show was that he started with such bold colours and then moved to the neutrals, as opposed to ending with the loud pieces. counterintuitive to me, but i love it- it was a captivating opening. the clean lines and beautiful origami-esque pieces Gurung is known for were apparent throughout the entirety of the show. i love love LOVE that turquoise and coral were two of his accent colours- so fresh and for whatever reason they make his pieces that much more beautiful. After this collection my vote (because it matters so much) is solidified- Prabal Gurung should definitely be the newest CFDA fashion fund winner. ok wow i'm rambling so hard right now- blame it on the six hours of class i just went through? maybs? anyway- i'm just going to let the pieces speak for themselves.
