Concert for Equality 7/31/10

Recently, Fremont- a small town right outside Omaha, passed an immigration law similar to Arizona's horrendous excuse at protecting US citizen rights. This move was fairly under-the-radar for a lot of us (it IS Fremont, after all) until Conor Oberst drew a lot of attention to it by putting together the all-day Concert for Equality. All of the proceeds went to the ACLU, who filed a lawsuit against Fremont. The concert itself was amazing- I got there in time to see five acts and hear stories from ACLU representatives and members of our Latino community in between sets. It was a wonderful day, and the feeling of unity and love of music all around was infectious.
